St. Mark's Youth Group
We provide young church members with a regularly scheduled meeting time and place for interaction of a community, religious or social nature. Our primary emphasis is on youth fellowship and reaching out to the community. Our goals are to be positive and fun.
We are located in Westhampton Beach, Long Island, New York. We have quite a few members and our group is a combined high school and middle school youth group. On our site, you will be able to find a calendar of upcoming events, updated weekly and we will also have many links.
Ushers
The first named is the head usher for that service. A reminder will be sent to each head usher prior to his assignment in time for him to contact his group as to attendance or substitutions. Please follow through with this policy.
Remember, if you are unable to usher at the time scheduled, it is your responsibility to secure a replacement. Usually exchanging assignments with another usher accomplishes this. If there are any changes to the schedule, please notify the head usher and our church secretary, Kate (288-2111) by midweek so that corrections can be entered into that Sunday’s church bulletin.
The head usher should arrive twenty-five minutes prior to the scheduled service and the remaining ushers at least twenty minutes before the service. After the 8:00 and 10:00 am services please post the attendance. A manual count from the balcony prior to the peace is the most accurate, with the children, teachers and choir counted separately from the congregation. The attendance should be placed on the secretary’s desk calendar after the service.
It is also the responsibility of the head usher at the 10:00* am service to select two people or a family to carry the Sacraments to the altar, following the peace.
The master schedule is always posted on the inside of the closet door in the main entrance of the church (where the attendance counter is kept) should you require it for reference. Once again, thanks for your faithful service. If you have any questions please call me at 288-2610
Sincerely,
Steve DeCaro and Steve Turner
